Barcelona Cooking Class

If you want a 'hands-on' Spanish food experience, take part in this fun, informal class combined witha visit to the city's famous Boqueria market.

Learn how to prepare the perfect paella and toss a tortilla. Enjoy the results of your kitchen handiwork and a glass of wine or join the good company of your classmates and teacher.

If you are a hard core foodie, special Catalan or Spanish cooking classes can be arranged on request.

Peneds Wine Tours

Famed for its effervescent cava, the Peneds region also boasts excellent white wines, bold ross and complex fruity reds, thanks toa varied topography. A 1500 year old winemaking tradition along with a reputation for being at the cutting edge of developments in the Spanish wine industry makes this a fascinating area to visit.

Peneds is the most innovative wine region of Spain. If you are there in late winter/early spring, then look to partake in the calotada – a festival paying homage to the local specialty the spring onion, barbecued over vine stalks and doused with a romesco sauce.

The Peneds region is a one hour train ride from Barcelona. Half, full day and luxury tour and cycle touroptions are available.

For the more active, the cycle routes followquiet country lanes and ancient pilgrim routes to villages, castles, restaurants and small family cavas and wineries.

One, three and eight day tours are available, either guided or self-guided.There is a wealth of nature, history and culture to explore and discover. For the longer tours accommodation is in comfortable farmhouses and townhouses close to the vineyards and bodegas.

Cycling is easy going with plenty of breaks to absorb the atmosphere and some of the local brews. Lunch is in small village restaurants. There are a variety of interesting options for dinner to recharge after a day's cycling.

Seville Wine Tasting/Tapa Tours

Seville and surrounds is another region where gastronomic and wine treasures are to be found. The great sherry wines, brandy and vinegar from the region of Jerez are a stone's throw away, as is the Huelva Sierra, where the world's finest ham is produced from the Iberian pig. Superb olive oils are also made in this region and the area around the town of Ronda produces the best red wines in Andalucia. Our activities help you discover these delights.

Also, don't forget that Seville is a Mecca for tapas bars. We can show you some of the best, where fantastic food is served, and if you are a keen cook we can teach you how to make them.

Riojan Wine Trails

First of the Spanish winemaking regions to be awarded the hallowed D.O.C (Denominacin de Origen Calificada – official acknowledgement of the regions superior winemaking status) La Rioja is justly famed for its reds.

Riojan cuisine is hearty fare to go with its full bodied wines. Staples such as beans (red, white and green) or potatoes a la riojanaare enhanced with paprika, garlic, peppers and excellent local meats in the signature Riojan dishes.

In six days and five nights, our Rioja self-guided cycle tour introduces you to the region's highlights – wineries, both historic and modern; kilometre after kilometre of quiet country roads winding along the banks of the river Ebro, paths trodden by pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago and the beauty of the Sierra de la Demanda mountains.
